How it runs

What happens next, step by step.

1

Call or send photos

Tell us what the roof is doing. If water is coming in now, the storm line answers 24/7 and a tarp comes first.

2

On-roof inspection

We get on the roof, photograph what is failing and what is sound, and hand you the report whether you book us or not.

3

Fixed quote in writing

Materials named, scope edges named, price fixed. You can compare it against anyone, line by line.

4

The work, then the walkthrough

Done to the quoted scope, site cleaned, and a magnet sweep of the yard for screws before we leave.

Why Ridgeline

The photo report is the whole difference.

What our written quote locks in before a sheet is lifted, and the cowboy shortcuts we will never take.

The 7-line quote
  1. 1 The inspection report. Photos from on your roof showing exactly what is failing and what is still sound. Not a guess from the driveway.
  2. 2 The fix, itemised. Materials by name (the Colorbond colour, the membrane brand, the screw class) and labour for the whole job. No "from" pricing.
  3. 3 The edges of the job. What is not included, named up front: gutters, skylights, solar removal and reinstatement. No surprise lines later.
  4. 4 The guarantee. 10-year workmanship in writing, plus the manufacturer warranty on sheets, tiles or membrane registered to you.
If a quote doesn’t show these lines, you can’t compare it, and you don’t know what’s been cut.

What you get from us

  • A photo report from your actual roof before any number
  • Licence number on every quote
  • Fixed price in writing before work starts
  • Storm make-safe that protects your insurance claim
  • Old sheets and tiles carted away and recycled

Cowboy tells

  • A quote from the driveway, binoculars optional
  • Door-knocking the street an hour after the hail
  • "Whole roof needs replacing" with no photos as proof
  • A cash deal that grows once the sheets are off
  • Gone by the time the first leak comes back
Honest scope

Repair, restore, replace, or make safe?

Option A

Repair it

Fix the leak, the broken tiles or the lifted flashing and leave the rest of the roof alone. The right call when the roof is fundamentally sound.

Right when: A roof under 20 years with one contained problem.
Wrong when: The third leak in two winters, or rust spreading along the sheets.
$500 to $1,800
Most common

Restore it

Full restoration: clean, replace broken tiles, rebed and repoint the ridge capping, reseal and coat. Buys a sound but tired roof another 10 to 15 years.

Right when: A structurally sound roof that looks tired and leaks occasionally.
Wrong when: Rusted-through sheets or rotten battens. Paint over rust is money burned.
$4,000 to $12,000
Option C

Replace it

Full re-roof in new Colorbond or tile, including tile-to-metal conversions. The honest option when the roof is at the end of its life.

Right when: A roof past 25 years, widespread rust, or repair quotes that keep stacking up.
Wrong when: A sound roof with one fixable fault. We will tell you so.
$15,000 to $45,000+
Option D

Make safe & assess

Storm damage path: tarp and make-safe first, photograph everything for your insurer, then scope the permanent fix once the weather and the claim allow.

Right when: Hail, a fallen branch, or sheets lifted in a southerly blow.
Wrong when: A slow leak with no storm event. That is a normal inspection.
Made safe first, then scoped
Before you call anyone

Work out what your roof needs, then ballpark it.

Two free tools: one gives you an honest steer between repair, restoration and replacement; the other a realistic range in under a minute. Both store nothing, and both end in an on-roof inspection, not a hard sell. Neither is a quote.

“Two other companies quoted us a full replacement from the driveway. Dan got on the roof, showed us photos of exactly which valley had rusted out, and fixed it for a tenth of those quotes. The honesty bought them the full tile-to-Colorbond job two years later.”

“Hail went through on a Saturday night and a storm chaser was on our doorstep Sunday morning. Called Ridgeline instead. Tarp on by lunch, photos of everything for the insurer, and the claim went through clean. The assessor said it was the best-documented roof he had seen that month.”

“Our 1981 terracotta roof looked done. Ridgeline checked it tile by tile and told us it was sound underneath, so we restored instead of replacing and saved over twenty thousand. The repoint and membrane work is immaculate and they left the yard cleaner than they found it.”

“Strata committee here. Ridgeline gave us a condition report with photos and a five-year priority plan we could actually table at the AGM. No scare tactics, no "everything is urgent". The block finally has a roof budget that makes sense.”

“Three different roofers chased a leak across our kitchen ceiling for a year. Ridgeline traced it to a valley blocked with fig leaves two metres uphill from the stain, cleared and resealed it, and the ceiling has been dry through two east coast lows since.”

“After the November hail our whole street was crawling with door-knockers. Ridgeline inspected, told us our roof only needed capping work and eight tiles, and put it in writing for the insurer. Neighbours who signed with the knockers are still waiting.”

“New gutters, fascia and downpipes on a salt-blasted corner block. Mick talked us through why the back run needed extra fall and an overflow, and the first big storm proved him right. Licence number was on the quote before we even asked.”

“Full Colorbond re-roof on our 90s place. Five days, weatherproof every night, solar panels off and back on without drama, and a magnet sweep of the lawn for screws before they left. The quote we signed was the invoice we paid, to the dollar.”

Watch this before you book

The questions every customer asks, answered once.

Costs, repair versus replace, storm claims and what the 10-year warranty covers, answered straight.

How much does a new roof cost in the Illawarra?
Honest ranges: a leak repair runs $500 to $1,800, a full restoration of a sound roof $4,000 to $12,000, and a complete metal replacement $15,000 to $45,000 and up depending on size, pitch and access. Your exact figure comes from an on-roof inspection and a fixed written quote, never a guess from the driveway.
Do I actually need a new roof, or can mine be repaired?
Most tired roofs are not dead roofs. If the structure is sound, a repair or restoration often buys another 10 to 15 years for a fraction of replacement cost. We climb the roof, photograph what is really going on, and tell you straight, even when the honest answer is the cheaper one.
Are you licensed to do roofing work in NSW?
Yes. In NSW, roofing work over $5,000 legally requires a licensed contractor, and gutter or downpipe work is roof plumbing, which needs a licence at any value. Our licence number (NSW Lic. 000000C) is on every quote. Always ask any roofer for theirs and check it on the Fair Trading register.
A storm just hit. What do I do first?
Call the 24/7 storm line. A real roofer answers, we get a tarp on and make the roof safe, then we photograph everything for your insurer before any permanent work. We work for you, not the insurance company and not a door-knocking storm chaser.
How do I avoid the roofers who door-knock after hail?
Storm-chasing crews follow hail fronts, sign people on the doorstep, bill the insurer hard and leave town. Never sign an authority on your doorstep the same day. Get any storm repair quoted by a local licence you can check, with photos of your actual roof, before you commit to anyone.
What does the 10-year workmanship warranty cover?
Our installation and repairs, in writing, for a decade. If something we did fails, we come back and put it right. On top of that, the manufacturer warranty on Colorbond sheets, tiles or membrane is registered to you at handover, so every layer is covered by the party who made it.
